This picture is amazing.   We had rain almost two weeks, so when I found it from the website of Taiwan Hakka Museum, I decided immediately to visit this free indoor spot with my kids.

There are three  parking lots.  You might also take THSR or TRA then take shuttle bus.  We enter the museum from the bridge on the 2nd floor.

The permanent exhibition on the 2nd floor that shows the life under Hakka people house for extended family. Unfortunately, it is closed when we visited it.

Hakka Theater

The most popular exhibition hall should be the Children’sMuseum (I think).  The Lei Cha DIY is my sons favorite section.

Opposite the Children’s Museum is the 4th Special Exhibition Hall.  Traditional Hakka Wedding is on exhibition at present (until the end of this year).

Its quite interesting  to know traditional Hakka wedding customs.  In addition to traditional Hakka, we also found some wedding customs in some Southeast Asian countries.

When you walked out of the museum and went to the amphitheater, dont forget to walk to the  Half Moon Pond which behind the museum.  The limitless semi-circular waterscape that overlooks the vast city of Tongluo and Shuangfeng Mountain was surprised me.

(Picture from website (圖片取自官網))

We had lunch at 嚐客 restaurant in the museum.  There is beauty of Half Moon Pond landscape, and a small play area for kids.  But I would recommend  Hakka style meal in Hakka old streets such as Nanzhuang old street (南庄老街), Shitan old street(獅潭老街) or Wenshui old street(汶水老街).

My meal  $240.

Kids meal $180

Kids  made own bags (actually just drew some patterns on it) to end our trip.

Originally, I am not plan to write this article.  Because I feel that there is still a lot of place I need to visit it.  But I want to share with you this museum is suitable for visitors who are looking for Hakka culture, laid-back, and indoor free spot.
